Enjoy the central location of B&B Volta!



B&B Volta is just a five minute walk to beautiful Lake Como, Como's lakeside promenade and boat transportation that will carry you up Lake Como to Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Villa Carlotta or Villa Balbianello.

Additionally, we're just a fine minute to Como's magnificent Cathedral, Italy's most harmonious example of transitional architecture. With its Gothic façade, rose window and pinnacles, Como's Duomo is a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.  Attached to the Duomo is the Broletto, which once served as Como's town hall, and the Torre del Comune, Como's clocktower.

 

Center Como also boasts many other impressive ancient churches and points of interest, including Como's oldest cathedral San Fedele (built in 914) and Porta Vittoria also known as Porta Torre, a striking skyscraper of a gate from 1192 with immaculate tiers of arches rising 72 feet (22m).

Location

B&B Volta is located in Como's historic center, at the corner of Via Cinque Giornate and Via Alessandro Volta. We're very close to beautiful Lake Como and all of Como's impressive monuments, churches and historical sites. 

 

Como is home to many designer shops, specialty boutiques and a department store. In center city, you’ll find designer boutiques such as MaxMara, Stefanel, Geox, Benetton, Bric’s and, a local favorite, A.Gi.Emme. An interesting household goods shop to visit is just in front of B&B Volta, in Via Cinque Giornate called Dep Design Store.

 

Our local department store, Coin, even has a small supermarket downstairs. We recommend taking a stroll down Via Vittorio Emanuele, located on the right of Como’s Cathedral, and Via Cinque Giornate which runs west just in front of the Cathedral. But, no matter where you walk in center-Como, you’ll find plenty of top-quality shopping opportunities.

 

In addition to the natural beauty of Lake Como and the many historical monuments and churches, Como offers you a wide variety of dining experiences. Our favorite - Il Pomodorino, is located just around the corner from B&B Volta and offers a delicious menu in a romantic and original atmosphere. You may even order a very good pizza.

 

In Como there are two train stations within a ten minute walk from B&B Volta. Como San Giovanni which connects Como with Milano Centrale Station and from Milano Centrale you can connect with many trains that will take you anywhere in Italy. Como's second station, Como Nord Lago connects Como with Milan Cadorna Station, which is practically in the center of Milan. From Milan Cadorna, you may take the subway to various points of Milan.
